LOCAL FILMMAKERS CAN SUBMIT FILMS TO BIFF 2022 FOR FREE

Bajan filmmakers are encouraged to submit their short or feature length films for free to the 5.5 Edition of the Barbados Independent Film Festival (BIFF) which will run March 1-6, 2022.

“Our Festival is greatly enhanced by local film content,” Festival Co-Founder/Co-Director Sir Trevor Carmichael said. “As in year’s past, BIFF strongly encourages the participation of local filmmakers and this year is no exception.”

Local submitters must be over 18 years, Barbadian by birth or descent and resident in Barbados. Submissions to BIFF 2022 can be made through its submission platform: https://filmfreeway.com/BarbadosFilmFestival by January 3, 2022. The fee waiver code is: BIFF2022WAIVER. Filmmakers will compete for a series of Jury, Festival Honours and Audience Awards.

BIFF is seeking gripping NARRATIVE, DOCUMENTARY and SHORT films that celebrate resilience and the capacity to overcome adversity. In addition, special submission categories also include: Best Local Filmmaker Award, thought-provoking and impactful ENVIRONMENTAL films and OCEAN-THEMED environmental and adventure shorts under 10 minutes for its SHORTS ON THE BEACH competition.
